Welcome to SeniorNet Hutt City.

Many older people may feel they're being left behind by technology and the computer age.

SeniorNet brings older adults and computers together in a friendly, fun and stress-free way.  It is for people aged 50 and over who would like to learn more about computers and what they can do, from basic word-processing through to email and surfing the Net.

There are now over 100 SeniorNet Societies, or Learning Centres,  throughout New Zealand with well over 20,000 members.  Each Learning Centre is established and run by an independent committee, who organise their own premises, classes and funding.

The  Federation of New Zealand SeniorNet Societies Inc. is up and running giving a very positive outlook for SeniorNet in NZ.

At SeniorNet Hutt City you have the opportunity to take courses covering the very basics of computing, starting from how to switch  on a computer, through to going onto the Internet and learning all about emailing.  You are taught by people of your own age, in small classes of five students with two Tutors and, as all our Tutors have progressed through the Courses themselves, they can easily relate to the problems and concerns  newcomers may have.
